Convo Bay

Shaping conversations with purpose

Convo Bay helps you turn information into insight using simple, practical questions that get people thinking, talking and seeing things more clearly. Because when things make sense, better decisions tend to follow.

Safety Due Diligence Deck

This deck is built to take the complexity out of due diligence, and turn it into real conversations. The questions help you explore what's actually going on, challenge assumptions, and get clearer on whether risks are understood and managed, not just ignored or hidden.

Not sure where to start? Here's some great ideas on how to use the cards.

Pick one card:
~ Reflect on your responsibility.
~ Support development sessions.
~ Frame a discussion for a report.
~ Guide conversations at site visits.
~ Start better conversations in meetings.

Track progress:
Come back to the cards over time to track improvement. At the end of each session, snap a photo of the cards you’ve used, record the insights or reflections, then next time ask yourself “Are we in a better place than last time?”

Spot the gaps:
Sort the cards into two piles:
~ We’re strong here (you feel confident answering it).
~ We’ve got gaps here (you’re unsure, or it’s not great).
Focus your time on the gap pile, that’s where the value is.

Change Perspective:
Pick a card and answer it from
different perspectives:
~ What would a worker say?
~ What would a manager say?
~ What would a regulator say?
Differences in your answers are what you should dig into.

Rate your position:
Draw a simple scale on a page from:
1) “we’ve nailed this”, to
5) “we’re not across this”.
Place each card on the scale where you think it belongs. Step back and look for patterns, what areas need to be worked on?

Prioritise your focus:
Create a simple grid of:
~ high/low confidence, and
~ high/low importance.
Place the cards on the grid. Start with the ones that are high importance but low confidence, that’s where you’ll get the biggest impact.

Understand the situation:
Map the cards to the 5 domains of the Cynefin framework for a deeper understanding of challenges.
Clear - We know what's going on and what to do.
Complicated - We need expertise to answer this properly.
Complex - We're not sure, outcomes are less predictable.
Chaotic - We're reacting, there's high uncertainty.
Disorder - We're not clear how to approach it.
Then decide what kind of response each one needs based on the problem.

If you're using the cards in another way, drop us a quick email, we'd love to hear how it's going.
